With a great sea of shifting dunes, inhabited only by nomads, Libya is probably the desert destination of the world. Yet the coastal regions are also surprisingly verdant, with a feeling often of the Italian or Greek coast. Although it has long had a name for tension and stress, the people are actually famous for their hospitality and friendliness and most visits are trouble free and highly enjoyable.
