Wokring a ski season in Switzerland or France

    Hi Amy,

I am looking to work at a ski resort in either France or Switzerland, I have looked at many websites and have most of what the employers require except a UK or EU passport!!! I have an UK ancestry visa from New Zealand and am willing to fork out for an seasonal visa but not sure how to go about it and which employers will employ me!  Please help

    Kind Regards

    Hi Max

Not having a UK or EU passport does make things a lot tougher, unfortunately.

Probably the best thing would be to get in touch with a recruitment company directly, and see if they have any jobs that fit your profile. Natives (www.natives.co.uk) would be a good starting point. With the ski season only a month away an organisation like Natives should be able to let you know how many/what roles are still available.

If you organise a French work permit (see http://www.ambafrance-uk.org/Long-stay-visa.html) you could just head over to France and see what work you can pick up. However, I'm not sure how long it would take to organise this permit, and I'm pretty sure it involves your passport getting sent back to your home country.

As an alternative, you could get a Canadian working holiday visa and work over in one of the many Canadian resorts. See: geo.international.gc.ca/asia/newzealand/

    Hope this helps
